Swarovski x The Mark

’Twas the night before Christmas, and nothing was stirring… except for ten construction workers, five designers, a couple of nervous clients and one large crane.

This was the scene at The Mark, an upscale hotel on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. For five nights, the PRESSURE team had been capturing time-lapse video of a façade being constructed by Swarovski that would convert the entrance of The Mark into a real-life gingerbread house, awash in thousands of Swarovski crystals.

The construction could only happen at night so as to not inconvenience hotel guests. We set up time-lapse cameras on trees, lamp posts and street signs, fitted with large exterior batteries so the cameras could record all night. At dawn, we would retrieve the cameras, offload the footage and do it again the following evening.

When the crane eventually lowered in two seven-foot-tall Nutcrackers, the façade was complete and we had only a few hours to finalize the video before the opening party that evening.

“Just taking a moment to tell you that it was an incredible pleasure working with you on this amazing project! The video is WOW. Can't wait for the next one. Thank you!”

Head of Global PR and Events, Swarovski

The party was attended by Emily Ratajkowski, Freida Pinto, Lucy Hale, Rachel Brosnahan, and others. PRESSURE placed
a post-production team at The Mark to edit during the party. We turned around several short videos for social media that very night.

While shooting and editing the party footage, we also had to capture the finished façade and edit another video for Swarovski.
